We have a lot of exciting news and happenings going on with our project. Most of the steel strand has been hung in the Laurens area and we have run fiber optic cable from our Laurens Substation back to the Oneonta Airport. You may have seen our crews in that area?

Our contractors are also working in the Edmeston, Brookfield, and Plainfield areas now. You may see crews in all of those areas during the week and over the weekend. All of our contractors have magnetic “Otsego Electric Cooperative” signs on their trucks.

We set two more communication shelters in the Edmeston and New Berlin substations last week.

We are currently focused on getting the main lines hung in order to meet New York State deadlines. We are not ready to schedule drops to your homes and installs yet but we hope to be starting in some areas in a few months once we get electronics in place and are able to light up an area. It will be worth the wait! You will be streaming your TV and movies soon! Speaking of which. We will not be offering a TV package but you can continue using your dish or you could consider the streaming television services such as Hulu® or Netflix® in place of your dish at a substantial savings! Your high-speed internet service will be ideal for streaming. Please don’t sign up for any long-term contracts with other providers. We will be at your door soon!
